Mykonos,
Greece

Here is your ultimate guide to Mykonos. From when to go to where to party I have enclosed a complete guide for you to completely enjoy your trip.

When to go

  • The best time to go to Mykonos is during the European summer. Anytime from mid May to late August. During the other months, the people of Mykonos spend their time repainting and setting up for the summer months.

If you are looking to relax and enjoy the island when it is it’s off season, try going anytime from March to beginning May. I can’t promise you it will be it’s warmest but the views are the same, the sunsets are at it’s best and the people are just as friendly!

Where to party

  • Scandinavian Bar Disco
My friends and I just happened to get lost through the winding roads and stumbled upon this bar. It was SO much fun. The place is almost always packed and has a great variety of music. Probably my favourite bar in Mykonos.
  • Paradise beach
What’s great about Paradise Beach is that you’re partying right beside the ocean and can walk around in the sand enjoying a cocktail. This is where some of the craziest party’s are held in Mykonos.

Paradise beach is known for it’s partying that lasts from early in the morning to… early the next morning.

  • Super Paradise Beach bar
This is where some crazy nights happen in Mykonos. Between the go go dancers and the loud music and smoke blowing from the roof, you’re bound to have an insane time. Again, this is another place for a great beach/bar party and night’s that you’ll probably never remember.

Where to eat

  • Kastros restaurant-bar in little venice, Mykonos.
Finally, if you’re looking for a delicious dinner and don’t mind splurging a little, this is definitely a must go to place in Mykonos. The location is perfect for watching the sunset on the Mediterranean sea.

A sophisticated restaurant with delicious food, it is definitely worth the price.

  • Nice n Easy
Here is another restaurant with an amazing location in little venice. Of course, the outdoor patio is the place to sit on a beautiful Mykonos evening. It has an amazing view of the sea, little venice as well as the famous Mykonos Windmills. The food was absolutely delicious and to my surprise, completely organic! Gyro Set up at Nice n Easy in little Venice Mykonos
  • Anywhere!
After splurging a little on some of the most well known restaurants in Mykonos I decided to get back to my poor little backpacking self and find some deals. To my surprise, you can really find some great gyro’s and little restaurants anywhere on the island.
My friends that I had met really had some fun walking through the streets (which seem like a maze) and finding the cutest little shops that had delicious food for quite cheap.

Where to stay

  • Vila Vasilis
Vila Vasilis is primarily studio’s and apartments and are great when traveling with people. The owner, Maria is the sweetest woman who really made our vacation that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here if you’re going with a group of friends.
  • Paraga beach hostel
This hostel is known for it’s partying! It has a pool and is set in a great location on the island overlooking the sea. It has a really great atmosphere and is a perfect hostel if you’re traveling alone and would like to meet some people.

Where to beach

  • Psarou beach
  • Panormos beach
  • Kalo Livadi Beach

What to see and do

  • Famous Mykonos Windmills (and Famous Singers)
Just beside little Venice, these Windmills are some of the biggest attractions in Mykonos. One night my friends and I actually ended up seeing a famous greek singer filming a music video. I have the photo down below.

    Ilias Vrettos
is a famous Greek singer we just happened to spot filming a music video by the Mykonos Windmills. He was awesome and so hilarious. We were a group of Canadian and American girls eye goggling over him and he was kind enough to take a picture with us. How cheesy are we?

  • The Lighthouse
This is in fact one of the best places on the island to take pictures. The view is unbelievable and it is a very secluded area of the island. If you’re looking for a good Insta pic, this right here is where to take it.

In fact, I actually didn’t know this was an attraction when I was in Mykonos. I had rented out an ATV with a couple of my friends and we decided to get up this mountain and see what this building was for some pictures and it ended up being this gorgeous lighthouse!

  • Rent a motorcycle or ATV
Unfortunately I didn’t actually rent this adorable blue scooter out because I don’t have a motorcycling license but I did rent out an ATV and it was the best decision. I was able to see the whole island in a couple of days and get to and from the beaches easily.

  • Visit little venice at least once for the Sunset
However busy you may get while vacationing Mykonos you must check out the sunset. This is actually a photo that I took while eating on the patio of the restaurant Nice n Easy that I recommended just above.
A lot of people surround this area for sunset and sit along the ledge surrounding the beach or sit in the sand and watch the sun go down. It really is magical.

  • Walk through Old Mykonos
Another great attraction is walking through Old Mykonos. These streets are winding, colourful and somewhat romantic. I actually got lost a couple times but there was nothing better than getting lost in these beautiful streets with my camera and taking in the beautiful buildings of the island.

This is all the information and ideas I gathered while traveling to Mykonos. I hope you enjoy your time and let me know what you think down below!
